Hop on Spot.
All Done!
From the start, this quilt was destined for the soon-to-be born baby of a friend of mine. They don't know whether the baby is a boy or a girl, so I chose bright, gender neutral colors -- turquoise, orange, and yellow. The quilt is so happy and cheerful, just like the mom to be!
I bound the quilt in orange and white seersucker. I love the hint of texture this gave the quilt, and you can't beat the diagonal stripes.
The back was pieced from some thrifted ikea fabric printed with orange birds, and some turquoise print from Joann's that I mysteriously bought yards of.
I hand-embroidered a label, which I think is the first time I've done a label by hand. I love the hand-crafted touch this adds to the machine-sewn quilt.

This is beautiful! I love the quilting and the seersucker is brilliant! Also, the stripes in circles, I have been dreaming about that for so long, but am too terrified of circles to even try, but this makes me want to all the more! You = awesome! Fabulous job, I am sure the mother will LOVE it!
Oooh! I love using seersucker for binding. The whole quilt is just beautiful. That orange bird fabric is also perfect!

Love the quilt! I would of never thought to use seersucker fabric for a binding. I will have to take a closer look at the seersucker next time I see it.
Kristen, I absolutely LOVE this! Love the seersucker...I never would have thought of using it, but I will now! Also, I had to laugh at the mysteriously acquired turquoise...I have some fabric like that as well!
I am such a sucker for circles in quilts, and your work is just another case for why! Lovely, lovely.

I love everything about this quilt - the circles, the fabric, the colors, the handmade label. Lucky recipient!
I am a fabric designer who is inching into full blown quilting. I'm really admiring your quilts. The circles and hand embroidered tag are just 2 awesome inspirations.
